Unitech Horizon Apartment Owners Association started this petition to Commissioner of Police- Gautam Budh Nagar

Dear All,
As you all are aware that our society is situated at a location where we are dealing with regular concerns regarding:-
(1)   Repeated attempted thefts and a few successful ones. The latest incident was on the night of 1 August 2020 where thieves entered the premises at 2 am; this is the second/third time the boundary wall has been breached on the side where the construction is going on in towers 22 and 23. However, the security guard and team were alert and managed to chase them out this time and last time. This is the third such occurrence of a breach in last one year, however, and our plot has adjacent empty plots on three sides, while there is little external monitoring on the side shared with the populous village.

(2)   Likewise, we have had reports of at least 3 muggings just outside our boundary walls—in one case, the person attacked was a domestic worker who had just finished work and was going home towards the village, crossing towards the other gate; in another, a driver who was used to leaving on motorbike was attacked when he one day happened to leave on foot. All of which suggests that regular comings and goings are noticed and taken advantage of by possibly local miscreants—or at least the miscreants hang around locally to survey their chances.

(3)   We have been informed of local citizens giving open threats to newly appointed staff/ agencies working in our society who come from further afield. They are not allowing them to work in society and want to only have local staff known to them personally employed in the society. Whatever agencies are contracted by society are all receiving threats.

(4)   Illegal dumping of waste in odd hours, construction of various small shops, spa centres near our society are some of the acts which needs to be administered with presence of law.

(5)   Brokers operating in the area are not following standard procedures of tenant identification and verification. There have been incidents where agreements have been made in one name whereas different people are found to be living in the flat. Several foreign nationals are living without valid visas and passports. (List attached). While it may be that some difficulty is owing to the current pandemic situation and its accompanying restrictions, it is also true that we are not qualified to judge this and our by-laws require full verification and validity of visas/passports for all foreign nationals. Having a local police presence might lead tenants, brokers and even owners bending the rules to think again, hopefully.

(6)   Drearily lonesome areas without a police chowki around our society are an open invitation to anti-social elements to cement their feet. The metro station is nearby, yet the road in front of the society is such that people would hesitate to walk home late in the evening or even in the afternoon alone, or with a young child, say—it is largely unpopulated and gets dark by night, lending easy cover. It is also some distance from the traffic of the main roads.

(7)   Especially in light of the recent/current pandemic causing high stress and safety concerns, we have seen altercations even among residents escalate unpleasantly. It would surely be a deterrent to have a local presence of the law inform of a Police Chowki.
Hence, we residents of Unitech Horizon hereby sign this petition to request the Commissioner of Police Mr. Alok Singh to:
(1)   Make a visit to our society with his team to assess the area and meet the residents to understand and address their concerns.

(2)   Place a Police Chowki near our society. This request has been put forward many times earlier also but the decision is still pending, due to which residents fear impunity has increased manifold.

UHAOA request all residents to sign this petition so that we can place our request in one voice to Commissioner of Police Shri Alok Singh & his team for providing a Police Chowki near our society as soon as possible.
Please sign the petition by clicking the link.

 Regards,

UHAOA
