The Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson Sr. is an incredibly notable American and global leader. He is a true Chicagoan who has made many contributions to enhance the socioeconomic fabric of disenfranchised and hard-hit communities. His organization, the Rainbow Push Coalition, is headquartered in Chicago and his efforts over the years has sprung numerous people of color from the backrooms to boardrooms.

Reverend Jackson has been called the "Conscience of the Nation" and "the Great Unifier," challenging America to be inclusive and to establish just and humane priorities for the benefit of all. He is known for bringing people together on common ground across lines of race, culture, class, gender and belief.

Reverend Jackson has received countless awards from around the United States and from many heads of state, including being recognized by former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown  at 10 Downing Street. He deserves to be recognized here at home.
