In creating this petition, I am aiming to stop racial inequalities that are frequently happening due to stop and searches in London. The reason for this is growing up in North London, I have identified that most of the stops and searches which happen here are usually targeted at people from a black background.

According to my studies there were 6 stop and searches for every 1,000 White people, compared with 54 for every 1,000 Black people. If you think about it, the stop and search rate for black people was nine times more than for white people.

By signing this, we will attempt to resolve this issue by requesting a more diverse police force and have stricter restrictions for police officers who have no evidential reasons for carrying out that stop and search. Another thing we will pursue is to have more active body cams so that any police officer that stops someone due to racial motivation should  be punished.
