Upperco, like many rural areas across the USA, is still fighting for access to hi-speed, affordable internet. Satellite providers are expensive and unreliable. During the pandemic, thousands of children have been left without consistent internet access because of their geographic location.  How will the children attend school online if there isn’t an internet provider in their area? 

As a life-long resident, I’ve called Comcast several times and was told that I needed to raise $1 million of my own money to bring internet into Upperco. Or, I can start a petition to show there is enough interest for them to consider coverage. How is that aligned with Comcast’s mission, values, and vision to support communities? 

How much longer will rural areas suffer because “big business” and local government don’t prioritize our people, farms, businesses, and families? Let’s take a stand and show up for equality, inclusion and freedom of choice for all Americans, not only in urban and suburban locations!
