Hello to anyone who sees this. The goal of this petition is to receive better internet options for the community of Gulf Cove located in Port Charlotte, Florida. Currently the only options for wired service is Comcast/Xfinity and Century Link. While most of the community has access to Century Link, the majority of the community must suffer speeds of 10mbps or less. The other option, Comcast, is sparse throughout the neighborhood and when asked to run a line has quoted me and others upwards of $30,000!! It’s the year 2021 and new houses are being built every day in this neighborhood. Younger people are moving here in droves only to find out internet is worse then it was 20 years ago. Especially coming out of a time where people were forced to work and go to school from their homes, how could anyone expect to get work done on speeds this low. It’s time that either Xfinity/Comcast or Century Link invest in getting better internet for this community before companies like StarLink/Tesla take over with satellite that blows them out of the water.
