We would like to create a zero tolerance discrimination policy in all Comal ISD schools. This policy would include immediate disciplinary action once a student or staff member is reported to have discriminated against another student or staff member. Depending on the seriousness of the situation the student shall either be suspended for 2 days, ISS for 3, or expelled. Discrimination in school would be when a child is treated unfairly based off of gender, disability, race, sexual orientation, religious belief or age. Some examples would include using slurs that may be offensive to a certain community of people(people of color, LGBTQ+, etc.) or excluding students from being apart of activities or groups. We would also like to request there be a lesson on this policy every year at the beginning of the year(or more if needed) to ensure that all kids know of this policy and will be more likely to treat others equally.
