My lifetime home, Columbus Ohio and all the amazing memories I have associated with that name is at risk of being changed forever! 

As you read this, there are others signing another petition to change our Homes name due to the flawed past Of Christopher Columbus, our City’s Namesake. 

It breaks my heart to think of this ever even being a thought or possibility. 

Columbus Ohio is so much more than the man it was named after! A name takes on new meaning once it is given. This should be obvious! If someone names their child after an historical figure and later on finds out the person wasn’t so good of a person, do the parents then change their child’s name? NO. that child has already taken that name, made it his or her own and given it new life and new meaning. 

Columbus means Home. Columbus means Family. A legacy of life and love, of hardships, growth, trials and victories. Columbus is change as well as familiarity that no other city in the world is to me and I know to so many others!
