CPS, pass a resolution to protect immigrant and refugee students!

The Columbia Public School Board's responsibility is to educate all students in our community.  In order for the Board to fulfill this responsibility, students need to feel safe and protected.

CPS must pass a resolution stating that “Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents cannot enter schools or the sites of school-related activities like sports games and field trips without a warrant, and that any requests to access a school or get information about a student will be directed to the school district attorney’s office.” In doing so, CPS can follow the example of districts in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Los Angeles, Nashville, Albuquerque, Denver, Pittsburgh, Portland, San Diego and more.

This resolution will ensure all students’ safety and, therefore, their ability to learn.

If you are a Columbia, Missouri resident, please sign this petition to show your support and encourage CPS to adopt a resolution protecting refugee and immigrant students and families.
