REQUIRE masks at Columbia County Schools, Lake City FL

On August 11th, Columbia County School Board negligently voted against mandatory mask usage, which would protect against COVID-19, at Columbia High School, erasing the policy set by the Superintendent. This decision will cost teacher, student, and family lives. We must take a stand.

The Center for Disease Control has reviewed the latest science and affirms that cloth face coverings are a critical tool in the fight against COVID-19 that drastically reduces the spread of the disease, particularly when used universally within communities. The only way CHS can open safely is with universal mask usage.

To see why masks are crucial, look at North Paulding High School in Paulding County Georgia. Only days after reopening with no mask requirements, the school closed due to an explosion of new cases. Images of crowded hallways and cramped classrooms look reminiscent of CHS.
