We the parents of Columbia, Illinois public school children want our voices and rights heard by the district board. It is unlawful for our Governor to mandate a mask policy. It is up to us as parents and the educators to ensure our children know their rights as citizens of this country and state. We are doing our youth a disservice by demanding they follow unlawful orders by our government. We must allow students the freedom to choose whether or not to wear a mask to school. Giving each individual the chance to succeed and learn in an environment that makes them most comfortable is shaping our future generation to take a stand for what is right and the freedoms our founding fathers fought for. Please give power back to our community by taking a stand against tyranny. Our children need our guidance and examples to know the power in speaking truth and fighting for what is right. Please help us take a stand. Our country will only remain the land of the free if we demand it.
