Currently the only fields Colorado Ignite Soccer Club is allowed to use are on the peripheral of the town. They are not large enough to host all our teams or put a full 11v11 size soccer field on properly. 

The reason is that the Town of Erie's in house recreational programming "comes first". Mitchell Field and Civic Green are not being scheduled properly to fully maximize the space allowing more use. 

If Colorado Ignite is allowed to practice and more specifically, play games on Mitchell and Civic Green the club will be bringing in outside families all day long to play against. These families will need to grab lunch after and will undoubtedly explore our town, giving our Erie restaurants and shops much needed business. 

If we continue to play on the fields toward the outside of town those families will be frequenting the surrounding cities establishments. 

Another reason Colorado Ignite should be on these fields in ample parking and easy bathroom access. The Erie Police Department has put in many resources to angry neighborhood owners who do not like the foot traffic our larger club sees. Neighbors are angry and confrontational to our competition which gives our town a bad name. Our program also hosts a program for players with special needs. They need the ramps and easy bathroom access at Mitchell and Civic Green. 

Our club is growing and our need for field space is not being met. We will have to leave our town and go outside to Broomfield or Dacono. Right now we spent $30,000/year on sub par fields with limited bathroom access and dangerous field conditions (sprinkler boxes in field, flooding, overgrown grass or dirt fields). If we go outside our town to rent fields that is $30,000/year that will NOT be spent in Erie.
