Respected Senators and House Representatives:

We the residents of El Paso County urge you to take bold action against District Attorney Dan May and remove him from office immediately.  Dan May has committed a grave transgression of justice by offering a plea deal to known child molester Hector Gonzalez who was allowed to walk away on probation after molesting a young girl, granddaughter of Valerie Montoya, who was only 4 years old at the time. 

"According to investigators, the abuse began in Sept. 2017 and continued through July of 2018 — just a couple of weeks before Gonzalez was arrested.

"...4th Judicial District Attorney's Office declined to prosecute Gonzalez after police accused him of assaulting young girl Gonzalez faced a total of five felony sexual assault charges and a misdemeanor unlawful sexual contact charge. Instead of going to trial, the 4th Judicial District Attorney's Office offered Gonzalez a plea deal."  

"Now, two more sexual assault survivors are coming forward, claiming they too were molested by Gonzalez a decade ago. Both say the District Attorney's Office did nothing."

We urge you to remove Dan May from office immediately.
