With the COVID-19 Pandemic, AP Students were either forced to take a 45-minute exam – entirely different from what they've been preparing for – or not take it at all. It is unrealistic to cover a year's worth of content within 45 minutes. On top of that, all the exams were FRQs, meaning that objectivity was lessened. Students also feel that the rubrics for the exams were poorly explained, even with the YouTube videos, and therefore did not know how to best answer questions within a time crunch. Do you skip around or answer one question in full instead of trying to answer as many parts as possible? College Board did say it was possible to score a 3, 4, or 5 without answering all parts, yet no more specifics were given.

As in previous years, students were given their scores with no explanation or reason why. Teachers are able to appeal 1s and 2s, but not 3s and 4s. This hurts the many students that are looking to apply/attend schools that only accept 4-5s or even just 5s on AP Exams. It only seems fair that College Board provide an explanation to students and teachers, as well as allowing any student who scored below a 5 an option to rescore.
