The AP Capstone Seminar course is a course advertised as one that strays from the typical AP Exam system. This is done through having the final score based of 3 different task— 2 with 1 paper and presentation, as well as the final exam.

This all seems beneficial to students and is in many ways helping students. However, when the CollegeBoard returns the AP Seminar score, students are merely given a numerical value for all of their work.

As a person that has took this course, I have been scoring really well on every mock exam we have taken since the beginning of the year. Moreover, I consulted many teachers for my papers and presentations and I was also getting feedback that I was doing extremely well. When we got our scores, I happened to get a 3. This was a shock to me as everything pointed that I would get a higher score. However, this is not what disappoints me; rather, it is the fact that the CollegeBoard does NOT provide the scores for each section.

The CollegeBoard advertises this course as one where students improve, and better their writing. Nevertheless, they are doing the exact opposite by not allowing students to see what they obtained in each section.
