As you all know colleges have put out notices to submit the fees. And everybody knows that due to this pandemic, financial conditions of almost everybody have destabilized as many have lost their jobs, some had businesses which were shut from a long period of time. Government and other organizations are trying to provide relief but still, problems are there and amidst these uncommon circumstances colleges are demanding full fees and that also in one go.

If we try to look in details there are many ways in which college's expenses have decreased during the pandemic as:

  1. Electricity used for fans, Ac's, computer systems, water coolers, etc. are being saved.
  2. Since labs are not being used by us, so all the expenses used on electricity and other things used in labs are being saved
  3. Other amenities such as markers, papers, and other stationery items are being saved
  4. University takes examination fees from us to conduct exams but they didn't conduct them for last semester so answer sheets, question papers, invigilators, center charges, and many other costs are saved by them.
  5. Colleges also conduct external assessments/viva, so their cost has also been saved.
  6. Even the colleges are asking to submit the full hostel fees but as till now it is not clear when will the situation become normal and we will back to the normal routine how could we submit the fees.

Still, we are paying the same amount to colleges and universities. So why should only institutions get the profit from these savings why not students, as they are worst affected.
We are not asking for free studies, we are just asking to find a way out so that neither the college nor the students had to bear any kind of loss.
