Rick Scott is unnecessarily discriminating students who do not choose a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) major. If he feels that one major is better for Florida economy than another, he should reward those majors rather than increasing the already high tuition prices amongst others. Despite the fact that non-STEM majors may have a more gradual and underestimated influence on the economy, they are the backbone that supports all other majors. Without the support of these majors, all other majors will be hurt as well. This, in my opinion, will cause the economy to stay the same, rather than leading to the change Rick Scott is hoping for.
