KHURRAM QASIR started this petition to College of Staten Island

We as College of Staten Island (CSI) students ask for a fair Pass/Fail grading option.  The official policy that is provided by CSI is almost opposite of the CUNY Credit/Non-Credit policy.

1. All the classes general education, pre-major, major, minor, or certification requirements courses be allowed under the Pass/Fail grading option.

2. There should not be any per semester credit limitation on the Pass/Fail grading option.

3. Every student must be able to decide to choose the Pass/Fail grading option after the CUNY grade submission date for the spring 2020 semester. (May 28th, 2020 11:59 pm)

4. Letter grade "A through D" should be considered P under the Pass/Fail grading option.

5. An "F" under the Pass/Fail grading option should not be factored in student(s)' GPA.

Every point above is opposite to the official CSI Pass/Fail grading option. All of the signers of this petition believe that the official "Pass/Fail grading option" provided by the college is not fair given the circumstances. Due to the COVID-19 quarantine students were not able to function at their fullest potential because of insufficient online learning methods. All the signers believe that a lenient Pass/Fall grading option is required for us all to continue our academic journey. We hope that the faculty at the College of Staten Island will cooperate with its students and help us get through these difficult and unprecedented situations (s).
