As it stands today, the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Indiana is a Hall of Infamy. The presence of Joe Paterno in the storied Hall serves only to cheapen the accomplishments and legacies of the TRULY great men and women who adorn its walls. The Freeh report makes unsparingly clear that Joe Paterno enabled Gerald Sandusky in his predatory abuse of defenseless young boys and made concentrated efforts to conceal Sandusky's monstrous crimes. In immediately stripping Joe Paterno of his enshrinement, the College Football Hall of Fame will send a clear message to the public that inductees will be held to the highest standards, not just of college football greatness, but of human morality. The legacy of Joe Paterno is irreparably tarnished. Remove him from the College Football Hall of Fame immediately.
