Stop SAT “Adversity scores”

College Board’s new adversity scores are discriminatory. Scores on a 100-point scale are measured based off of race, neighborhood, family income, etc.

When it comes to something as important as college, your future should not be jeopardized based on things you couldn’t control. You can’t control your race, kids can’t control where their parents choose for them to live, they can’t control their parents’ income. Colleges should not be taking into account these factors when admitting students, and should only be based off of academics, human characteristics such as leadership, compassion, etc., and extra-curricular activities.

This is pure discrimination. Of course those with more disadvantages should be given a chance, but this is not the means for that.
