Colin Barnett has quashed the opportunity West Australians would have had to participate in their democracy in the upcoming state election. He has refused a People's Town Hall Debate between himself and Mark McGowan to take place on February 26. The proposed debate was a town hall style, with up to 1,000 regular West Australians participating and asking unscripted questions of both the Premier and the Opposition Leader. It was to be broadcast on WTV and simulcast on 6PR. Without this there will be only an ABC closed debate that is to be attended by selected journalists and technical crews. Nobody from the public has been invited. West Australians want to participate in their democracy! We, the voters of Western Australia, have the right to know the answers to our questions before we vote in the upcoming election. We call on Colin Barnett to accept this second debate and answer many of the questions we have of his government and his leadership.
