Hello everyone! Recently I was in a car crash, and I want to take action.
I was driving to work, heading westbound on route 16 between Kansas and Ashmore. The other car missed the stop sign headed south bound on 2700 E and crossed into route 16. The wreck happened at the intersection of route 16 and route 49 between Ashmore and Kansas.
There are rumble strips coming to that intersection if you are headed up from Westfield on 49 but there are no rumble strips headed on the opposite side of that intersection.
As it turns out, I’m not the first to have an accident there. I almost died, but unfortunately others have lost their lives having similar wrecks in this area.
They may or may not have stopped. They may or may not have been distracted, or did not see me. But ultimately, I believe adding rumble strips to this road will help people either...
1. See the stop sign and fully stop
2. Get their attention if they are distracted
One accident is one too many, and we need to do something about it. I don’t want to see what happened to me, happen to someone else. I’m lucky to be alive.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
