Eliminate potholes on Reid Road

We would like to bring your attention to the surface condition of Reid Road. Up until about 12 years ago it was little more than a dirt track and was used primarily by residents who live on this short road that intersects Learmouth Road at both ends. (See map below.) At this time a major part of the road, east of 5642 Reid Rd, was given a seal coat finish without constructing a proper road base.
Since then extensive patching has become a spring ritual in this section. As the number of potholes grows each year patching material has replaced the original road surface in many places. In some areas, there is nothing but lumpy, bumpy patching.
Reid Road is not a heavily used road because there is a much better alternative in Learmouth Road. All the logging trucks, coming down Bluenose Road, use Learmouth Road exclusively because they know better! However, there are other truckers who do not know the condition of the road, and perhaps are using GPS navigation. We have seen everything from 5-ton single axle trucks, and even B trains.
The road simply cannot hold up to heavy axel weighs.
Instead of having to patch hundreds of potholes every spring perhaps restrict vehicle weights on Reid Road. Alternatively, limit use to local traffic only. There is no downside for other travelers because Learmouth Road takes the same amount of time to reach the points of intersection.
