There are many children wanting to play or practice basketball in Coffs Harbour and there is nowhere for them to go that doesn't cost them money.

They are locked out of schools.  Indoor stadiums cost money.

For months, I have been trying to find somewhere to take kids to play or practice their skills. I've come up against a brick wall as there is nowhere to go in Coffs Harbour, without paying court hire. People can't afford to be paying all the time and kids need to be outdoors doing something.  In other cities around Australia, there are basketball rings put up in public areas - but in Coffs Harbour there are none!

I would like to see backboards and basketball rings put up in parks and outdoor areas at Jetty foreshore and Brelsford Park; and any other safe areas.

This would be a relatively low cost exercise for the council and it would give local kids a great alternative to sitting inside on their devices.
