My name is Daren Jaques, and I am a veteran who has struggled with mental health issues including thoughts of suicide. I want to help raise awareness for veterans who struggle with mental health. Veterans commit suicide at alarming rates. Around 20 die every day. That equals 9/11’s death toll every single year, and exceeds the Vietnam war’s death toll since 9/11. That’s 6,000 suicides per year and 60,000 over the last ten. Please sign and encourage major news organizations to spend ONE DAY devoted to covering EVERY suicide.
