We Appreciate & Stand by you for all the measures that have been taken by your Govt.to combat Covid19 Corona Virus in the State.People have understood the infectious nature of the dreaded disease which is engulfing the whole world.

As you are aware,in our part of Odisha we have VSS-IMSAR,the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences & Research at Burla,Sambalpur. This is the second Medical College in Odisha since 1967 & in 2013 it was made an autonomous Body.However, due to the absent of a full time Director this institute is suffering from proper direction & drive.

Needless to say this premier Medical Institute caters to the medical needs of thousands of patients on a daily basis. People from 10 & a half districts of Western Odisha (WODC areas) & parts adjoining its borders with Chatisgarh & Jharkhand states depends on it for their medical Care.For all of those,the present Covid19 Corona Test & Treatment Hospitals at Bhubaneswar & Cuttack are more than 275 to 350 kilometers from their district HQs.

A dedicated Covid19 Corona Test & Treatment Centre has been already demanded by MISSION VSS-IMSAR & supported by many other organisations of western Odisha.

As a matter of fact 40 ventilators were being purchased by the than authority at VSS-IMSAR,Burla, but on arrival, citing lack of space for its installation a few months back,those were returned by some different Officials,(as Director had been asked by Govt to go on leave & the post is lying vacant since long)
Sir,your Govt.had declared it to be a Super Specialty Hospital & Centre of Excellence, the building works for which are underway. In such a time such irresponsible deeds to have ordered return of those Ventilators, by the present Officials, had earlier drawn vehement protests,from all quarters.

Now,we understand,in the light of our preparedness to fight Covid19 Corona, a 500 bed Isolation & Quarantine Centre is coming up at Paulasti Hostel of VSS-UT,Burla, near the VSS-IMSAR,Burla. 

As you are also aware the Isolation Hall & Quarantine Centre has to have ICUs,CCUs with Ventilators, we urge upon your good self to advice approprite authority to return those 40 ventilators to VSS-IMSAR,Burla, which belongs to it & ensure a full 100 bed ICUs,CCUs with provisions of new ventilators. Apart from OPD & isolation wards testing Laboratory for Biosafety Levels2 (BSL2) for rt PCR, such provisioning ICUs,CCUs with ventilators are urgently necessary.

Hence this memorandum for an early action on your part for the needful.
