Everyone, let’s get the day after Halloween this year off from school. It would make sense, right? Let’s be honest, there are going to be a lot of students that go out on Halloween night and have a little more fun than they should. They’ll come to school still hungover or a bit high in the sky and no real learning happens. Let’s all make the simple request for Monday, November 1st to be off of school as a day to gather from the Halloween festivities and events, like the hungover parts, that maybe shouldn’t have occurred for some people. Additionally, there will be time for teachers and staff all around Clovis Unified that can enjoy that simple day off from their own Halloween events. This benefits not only the teachers but now we have the fact that those teachers that enjoyed the holiday for themselves also get the day off rather than forcing a lesson if there were side effects involving Halloween. Just the simple side effects like drowsiness and being tired, but enough to make all the difference during the class period. To sum up, it just makes sense. More learning would occur with the 1st of November off, and it’s beneficial to everyone. Clovis students, let’s get this day off!
