No Exit is a classic piece of French literature and should be able to be performed at a high school level.

About 50 years ago, when I was 15 years old, I was a doorman at a movie theatre. An adults-only theatre nearby would share popcorn and ice with us and we would share with them. I once asked the owner of the adults-only theatre what he thought of the negative press that he received. He told me that he would be happy to show Disney movies every day, but his customers were interested in something different. If no one wanted to see "No Exit," the box office would be empty. If the goal of those who would close the show is an empty box office, they should talk to those who want to buy tickets, not to those artists who want to produce art.

It is plainly wrong for anyone to censor a play simply based on some people not wanting to see diversity.

Regardless of the broader cultural issues at play Art is Art and Lit is Lit for a reason and it os to make us question assumptions, group think, and make us uncomfortable, thats how humans grow. I'm disappointed that a school district does not stand for personal growth and I'm skeptical and off put that the production team had to update and censor it to begin with. It should be allowed to run in its full uncensored format.
