For Indigenous, Racialized, LGBTQ2+ and All Canadian Women: Close the Gender Pay Gap

For Indigenous, Racialized, LGBTQ2+ and All Canadian Women: Close the Gender Pay Gap

Like many Canadians, I feel that it is important to abolish all gender-based discrimination and injustices in Canada.
Unfortunately, a gender pay gap continues to exist in our country. A 2019 report by Statistics Canada found that women earned 89 cents for every dollar earned by men. The gender pay gap is even worse for those who face discrimination and oppression. Racialized, Indigenous, and those who identify as LGBTQ2+ earn significantly less than 89 cents.
With your support today, we can effectively appeal to Prime Minister Trudeau to create a Pay Gap Commission tasked with enforcing pay equity laws in all provinces and territories, not only in federally regulated workplaces but in all workplaces.
I propose that the Pay Gap Commission oversee the implementation of programs aimed at closing the representation gap at all pay levels in all sectors specifically for Indigenous, racialized, LGBTQ2+, and all Canadian women.
Together, we can make Canada the most progressive country on the planet. If this issue resonates with you, please lend your support by signing my petition.
Ours can be the generation that helps permanently close the gender pay gap in Canada.
