Noise pollution has been a permanent problem in Kileleshwa and Kilimani, the community has been complaining to NEMA and other relevant authorities. Authorities sometimes intervene but the noise is controlled only for a few days and then reverts to the pollution levels and worse.

These adhoc interventions are clearly not the answer. We are compelled to now bring this matter to the attention of the State with a view to finding a lasting solution. In principle, we object to the presence of bars and other entertainment establishments in residential areas.

We request for a law to prohibit such establishments from being created in residential areas.

We also demand that the ban that was effected by the courts be re-established with immediate effect in Kileleshwa and Kilimani.
