Reverse the road closures in Oakdale
In a recent BCP Council consultation 68% of respondents said the closure of Darby’s Lane had a negative impact, whilst only 20% claimed a positive impact. This scheme has caused an increase in congestion and traffic on neighbouring roads, issues with access and the slowing down of emergency service vehicles whilst trying to reach patients and carry out their duties. It is extremely disappointing that the extension of this also includes the closure of Kingsbere Road without proper consultation beforehand. This displaces even more traffic onto Henning’s Park Road, Dorchester and ultimately Wimborne Road. Like the closure of Darby’s Lane, this also increases journey times and, subsequently, increases carbon emissions to the local area and wider environment.
We, the undersigned, are opposed to the two road closure in Oakdale, namely Darby’s Lane and Kingsbere Road. We call on the council to reverse the road closures and reopen the roads to vehicles.
