We are looking for the Town of Plattekill to approve the resolution presented at the Town Board meeting so Plattekill can become an official Climate Smart Community. 
With their approval, Plattekill will have access to grants in order to make real change toward reducing its carbon footprint and meeting new legislation. 

Climate Smart is:

A STATE-LOCAL PARTNERSHIP TO:
1) REDUCE GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS
2) PREPARE FOR A CHANGING CLIMATE
3) BUILD A GREEN ECONOMY

State agencies provide guidance and funding to help communities implement strategies to achieve these goals. 

ONE-THIRD OF NEW YORK STATE IS ALREADY REGISTERED AS A CLIMATE SMART COMMUNITY, INCLUDING ROSENDALE, GARDINER, NEW PALTZ, AND Town of ULSTER
