Lower the Linden Speed Limit to 35

I have been thinking more of the road safety in my own community. The intersection of John Marshall Hwy/rt.55 and Freezeland Rd. an extremely dangerous offset intersection. Linden is becoming an extremely busy place...new homes being built and lots of tourism. There are thousands who live on Blue Mountain. There is a church, a post office and two businesses all within a 1/4 mile. The speed the limit is posted for 55 mph, but only 45 mph suggested yield sign for our intersection. Many people speed beyond 55 mph, tractor trailers come barreling through at 70mph, people almost get T-boned all the time. Several accidents happen here a year. Why hasn't anything been done yet? The speed limit needs to be lowered or someone might get seriously injured or worse...
I have already called vdot and suggested the limit be reduced to 35 mph just for our little town of Linden, but I'm afraid it's not enough. Everyone always complains about, and I'm ready to do something about it if it means saving someone's life. I love our community and do not want to see anyone hurt here. If you agree, I urge you... sign our petition. Please.
