Contractual Requirement for NFL Cleveland Browns Players to Stand for the National Anthem

Since the relocation of the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore in 1995, it has been difficult being a Cleveland Browns Fan. Fans have been resigned to a second rate team that has not been able to get out of their own way due to a systemic failure in talented players, coaches, and management. Many Browns fans would rather watch replays of the Browns during the 1980's than to set through this shadow of a team. Thank God for tailgating, the great people of Cleveland, and cold beer to make Browns seasons bearable.
The last straw is having Duke Johnson Jr. , Terrence Magee, safeties Peppers and Calvin Pryor, cornerback Jamar Taylor, tight end Seth DeValve, wide receivers Kenny Britt and Ricardo Louis, linebackers Christian Kirksey and Jamie Collins, and running backs Isaiah Crowell and Brandon Wilds not standing during the national anthem. These actions, no matter how well intentioned should have violated a "moral turpitude" clause in these players contracts and caused them to be fired on the spot. Players should remember they are in the public eye and are looked upon by the youth of the Nation as potential role models. What players do off the field and on their own time can be debated but there should be no debate when they put that uniform on.
First Energy Stadium is owned by Cleveland City Council and council members should require in their contract with the Cleveland Browns that each player be bound by a "moral turpitude" clause that requires their players to stand during the national anthem, to respect the flag of the United States, and when proper to stand and recite the pledge of allegiance to the United States of America. And to save all protests for off field activities during their personal time.
