Ashley Casterline started this petition to Cleveland Indians and

For years there has been controversy about the sports team names of the Cleveland Indians and the Redskins, but whom I mostly see complaining about it are not even a quarter Native American. This petition is to give only the Native peoples the right to vote on changing or keeping these names/logos, because they are to represent and honor them, and their voices are what should be heard. The teams should have to take a formal vote from the Reservations and any person from the census that are proven to be and label themselves as Native Americans. I have seen Native Americans on reservations that support the teams and their names/logos, and some who don't. It's their right to choose what they want, and for teams to work with them to make it happen. Society has taken so much away from them for hundreds of years, don't take this right away from them that they should have on how they're represented.

I want to spread awareness and thought about this issue through the petition, so please share so the teams will see and hopefully listen. Thank you!

Additionally, take time to find charities to donate to help tribes. There are many who are struggling hard and need help, but the media doesn't hardly cover it.
