Release William's Father on Bond!

William's father Jose Cedillo-Cruz is currently facing deportation unless an immigration judge releases him on bond.  His adopted son William is currently staying with a neighbor, otherwise he would be in foster care. If his father is deported, William will either accompany him back to a very dangerous situation or go into permanent foster care.

Jose worked tirelessly for years as a campesino organizer in Guatemala, helping develop three peasant-owned cooperatives.  He also legally adopted William, the son of a cousin who died.

140+ campesinos have been murdered by paramilitary and private security guards in the Bajo Aguan region of Honduras in the last five years.  Their well-known human rights lawyer was assassinated and MARCA organizers receive regular death threats.

Jose came to the US to protect young William from danger: children of organizers are often targeted for kidnapping or murder.  William and Jose were detained at the border in January and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) put an "ankle bracelet" on Jose to track his movements.  Although he explained that it was malfunctioning and not accurately tracking his movements, ICE never replaced it and he was detained two weeks ago during a routine check-in with ICE.

Demand that the immigration judge release Jose Cedillo-Cruz so he can continue to care for his son and keep him from the very real danger ongoing in Bajo Aguan.
