Bridget Chebo Enggasser started this petition to Senior Director of Real Estate Peter Volas, Cleveland Clinic Foundation

Cleveland Clinic Foundation plans to demolish the historic 1920s Brooks and Drury theatres, the original home of the Cleveland Playhouse located at 8500 Euclid Avenue for no other reason than to park vehicles and equipment while it develops a nearby property. This building and grounds has historic significance not just for its architecture but for its long history and the many people who have graced its stages and many patrons and volunteers who have called this place home.

Our goal is to preserve these historic theatres when so many other original structures in this area of Cleveland have already been demolished. The property covers over 11 acres and also includes one of the last free standing original Sears department stores.

Cleveland Clinic Foundation has a problematic track record of demolishing other historic structures, and has plenty of resources to handle its new development plans without this effort.
