Put an End to Clemson's Campus-Wide Mandates
Clemson University responded quickly when the COVID-19 Pandemic first hit in 2020. The University first instated a campus wide mask mandate as soon as students where able to return to campus and required weekly COVID-19 test for both the students and the staff. Before returning to campus Fall of 2021 the University only recommended masks to be worn, but the night before the first day of classes the University sent an email returning the mask mandate and the weekly COVID-19 tests.
Now it is time for Clemson University to put an end their COVID-19 mandates. This year COVID-19 is less prevalent in the United States than last year, and with the new vaccines, it’s harder to contract as well. Just within the last year at Clemson, the amount that tested positive for COVID-19 has decreased by 84%. At this point in time, Clemson University’s mandates only hinder students and faculty especially with the repercussions for that follow when not obeyed.
