In the most recent days, the heater has turned on within Byrnes, and the temperatures have risen with it. As stated by many residents throughout the building, many prefer to keep their rooms cold, as if they feel the need to warm up, they can simply wear a blanket or put on more layers. However, the current heat environment of the building does not give residents this option, instead causing some to be uncomfortable in their own rooms without a method of cooling themselves down. The residents are not able to cool down the rooms themselves, as many are still feeling hot in their rooms even though they have their thermostats set to the lowest temperature that they can possibly set it. We would like the heaters to be turned off so that our rooms can stay colder, creating a more comfortable living environment for the residents, and possibly reducing electricity costs for the building as an added benefit.
