Hello Everyone! My name is Cleah Roberts I am a junior nursing major here at Millikin. I am running for Student Representative to the Board of Trustees. However, to begin my campaign for this position I need 100 signatures from currently enrolled full-time students. Before asking you all to sign this petition, I first want to explain why I feel I would be best for this position. Being the secretary of Multicultural Voices of Praise (MVOP), a general member of Black Student Union (BSU), and a part of Intervarsity here on campus allows me to be connected with the campus community and allows me to see and hear the needs of the students. Also, I went to a different university my freshman year before coming to Millikin, and I understand what it is like attending a university you do not like and being in a space where you do not feel seen or heard. When attending that university I wish I had someone to voice my opinions too; who would take my words and make real change with them. I aspire to be that person here at Millikin. I want to hear the voices of my peers and articulate them to those who can make those words turn into action. I hope to be the individual who can take the wants and desires of the student body and present them to individuals who can make those things happen. I hope to hear from the community I am already familiar with and gain perspective from those who have I yet met, but am excited to meet. With this being said, I hope you all feel confident in my ability to fulfill the role of the position.
