Change Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center's Name To Honor Tom Petty

With the sudden loss of one of our country's greatest artists, it only seems fitting that the venue he  set the attendance record for back in 2013, and had performed at several times since the venues opening back in 1989, should be named after the legendary musician. I have always heard stories from people who attended one of his sets at the venue. The borderline supernatural feelings that several concertgoers have received from Pettys visits have frequently been the theme of such stories. Especially during the track "Mary Jane's Last Dance" when the lyrics mention our beautiful state multiple times. I was able to see Tom's final performance back in May of this year. For personal reasons, this show has now taken over a very special place in my memory. OUR venue is about to undergo yet another name change. One that is a little too long in my opinion. I'm a firm believer in "what's right is right!" This honor feels right. So I implore anyone who sees this, let's work together to honor a gentleman that entertained us time after time at this location. I grew up on Tom Petty &a The Heartbreakers as most folk in Indiana did. With all that's wrong in the world these days, let's do something, although small, yet correct.
