On Thursday, July Second, the Circuit Court of Clay County ruled Governor J B Pritzker’s restrictions null and void based on the premise that his emergency powers had expired after thirty days. Governor Pritzker does not seem to be getting the message. The next day on social media platforms, the Governor posted explaining that he is willing to shut down businesses that flout his “capacity guidelines.” This is clearly illegal now pending a successful appeal from the Governor. Until this appeal happens in the higher courts and is ruled successful, Illinois businesses are not to be touched by J. B. Pritzker regardless of how they operate without due process. We must let the governor and any Illinois politician know that the Clay County ruling applies to the whole state and is to be taken seriously. If we don’t, we are basically giving Governor Pritzker free reign to do whatever he wants with no consequences for him and huge implications for the people and businesses of Illinois. No Governor is above the law and no Governor is above the courts. Rod Blagojevich learned this the hard way in 2008 and it is time for the same to happen to J. B. Pritzker. Sign this petition and help put Pritzker in jail where he belongs!
