The Seniors of 2020 deserve better, they deserve the same memories as every other class that has graduated and will graduate in the future. As an 2014 Alumni of Peru, I am ashamed of the BOE and administrators response to this situation. If there is such a concern for safety and the class then this decision would have included them in the first place. There is no reason why there can’t be a ceremony with social distancing in place in another way. Prom was postponed but graduation can’t be? These young adults have waited and worked hard for this moment and deserve the memories of walking across a stage, getting photos while in cap and gown and celebrating their accomplishments.
