Up until recent weeks, the students of Clarkson College were promised graduation ceremonies succeeding each semester. We have planned our schedules according to the calendar dates we were provided, scheduling flights for family members, requesting time off of work and building excitement around these days. 

The administration of Clarkson College has decided to remove two graduation ceremonies, having only one in August, beginning the year of 2022. Intending to condense our ceremony with those of whom have yet to even begin their final semester, allowing the graduates of December 2022 to walk the August prior. They have decided to implement this change without even a years notice, without even a discussion with their "valued students", but have claimed to take "valuable research" from larger universities.

The students of Clarkson College and their families see this as a gross misjudgment and are prepared to take the necessary steps to reach the outcome they deserve. This change needs to be implemented for incoming students and not those graduating in less than 9 months time. We are willing to discuss a multitude of substitutes for more cost effective alternatives in our graduation ceremonies to reach a solution fitting for both parties. The upcoming graduates have worked incredibly hard to reach this goal and they should be provided with the recognition they deserve in an appropriate and timely manner.
