Plant some fast growing trees behind Winding Woods and Honey Hill in Clarksburg Village

Last year many mature trees (about 60-80 feet tall, 50+ years old) were cut down in the area behind Winding Woods Way, Honey Hill Lane, and Echo Point Place for the stream restoration project. The HOA and residents were not aware of this project and a lot of residents living in this area were devastated to see this loss. This area was full of wildlife and was a natural habitat of many birds and animals before the trees were taken out. The forest lost big areas of the tree canopy.
After initial uproar, county planted some trees but they are small, slow-growing and haven’t been planted at the right location. Per earlier agreements, this land is now transferring to the Clarksburg Village HOA and only HOA can plant on this land. Getting some fast-growing trees near stream bed area and places where mature trees were cut will help this wooded area regain some of its majesty in coming decade and that will help the wild life and the community over all.
I am in favor of any effort to restore and maintain all green areas of the Clarksburg Village. With so many homes in very close vicinity, these green spaces add to visual appeal and also help many animals with their natural habitat.By signing this petition we can urge the Clarksburg Village HOA to use the funds they have for this purpose to plant some fast growing trees in this area.
