There was a time when Cricket was so popular in Canada that it was declared the national sport by John A. Macdonald, the first Prime Minister of Canada.

Considering the increase in population in Durham region, the demand for having sporting facilities has raised more than ever! Being one of the passionate followers of the game, Cricket, with rise of population from different South Asian communities, there is definitely a huge need for having a cricket ground. 

When I moved in here in Clarington region, a lot suggested there is very less opportunities and demand for cricket. But guess what! Within few weeks, I realized people were just waiting for a platform to be provided. Some cricket fans used to compromise playing on diamond field, parking lots or school backyards. There has been never a issue of interest. Within 6 weeks since I moved in, I saw how quickly a platform of 200 people is built.  

There has been great number of soccer fields available in Clarington region, even some have lights that give opportunity to play in the evening hours as well. However, not even one field for cricket. It is the right time to have one cricket pitch for our community in Clarington.
