We believe that it is not in the best interests of the community or the future character of our town and shopping centre for a Funeral Parlour to be centred in the heart of our Maclean shopping, commercial and community street. . The old RSL , on which the Parlour is envisaged to go , served the general public, provided access to dining with a river view and was a complimentary part of the shopping and business area activities. This will now cease. Parking for Funeral participants will be limited and  in the street .  Parking for those shopping and visiting for business will interfered with on funeral days. The main street is busy enough now , relatively narrow and has a lot of pedestrian traffic.   

Finally we dont want to see our town become "the Funeral Parlour Town of the Clarence." 

There is to be another such establushment just out of the main shopping centre  a more appropriate position which Council has approved. 

We don't want another one in the Centre of our  town please.
