No Traffic Lights Yamba

The Service Station proposed for the corner of Yamba Road and Treelands Drive is inappropriate for an intersection which is already under stress from traffic congestion. If it goes ahead it will add significantly to the problem and bring forward the need to upgrade the intersection to a roundabout or traffic lights. These would be the first traffic lights in the Clarence Valley. The absence of traffic congestion and traffic lights is an iconic feature of our town and one of the unspoken drawcards for visitors. Once we lose this it can never be reversed. We call on Clarence Valley Council to reject this development, and on Westlawn to reconsider the location, if not the entire proposal.
