On behalf of LGBTQ+ youth and allies that attend Linden-Kildare CISD and surrounding schools, this petition's goal is to ensure full equality for same-sex couples attending prom. Linden-Kildare has recently announced their ban on LGBTQ+ couples attending prom together. This is not only prejudicial and unconstitutional, but illegal under Title IX laws. This is a recurrent issue despite it's being the 21st century and schools claiming to be an equal and discrimination-free environment. By signing this petition you will take role in furthering the equality for LGBTQ+ students attending Linden-Kildare high school, including myself. This petition urges LKCISD administration, superintendents, and principal to lift the rule discriminating against same-sex couples at prom.
