A Dáil vote to ratify CETA's Investor Court System is set to take place in the Dáil after little or no public debate and scrutiny. 

If ratified, the vote could give Canadian a corporations the power to sue governments who enact policies which could affect corporate profits, eg the biggest landlord in ireland is a Canadian company called IRES. They could potentially sue if a policy were to freeze rents. 

The people of Clare are calling on local councillors to hear and pass an emergency motion on Monday 8th February asking for a more open debate involving a closer scrutiny of the legislation involved and how it could potentially lead to a chilling effect on policy and millions of taxpayers money being wasted in corporate courts. 

We are asking the councillors of Clare to speak for the people of Clare in making sure our TD's have all of the information they need to make the right decision for the people.
