The issue of accessibility and safety was raised at a local advocacy meeting.

A community member highlighted his difficulty in being able to cross the road at the Ennis Bus Station Roundabout. Instead of being able to cross the road and head directly to his day service, he has to take a detour which takes 10 minutes in order to be able to get there safely.

A number of other community members agreed that they have the same difficulties crossing the road at this location. 

There are four exits off the Ennis Bus Station roundabout yet there is currently only one pedestrian crossing. We ask is one pedestrian crossing enough to cover all sides of the Ennis Bus Station Roundabout? In short, no.

Therefore we are petitioning the Clare County Council to install additional pedestrian crossings to cover all 4 exit roads of the bus station roundabout.

We urge those who are concerned about accessibility in Ennis to sign this petition. Together we can make our town safer.
